One of my clients with a good brace of rainbow trout from Jacklands Fishing Lakes at Nailsea.

Caught on blue flash damsel nymph.

Two of my clients with Rainbow trout on their first visit to Chew Valley lake.

Brand new to fly fishing, they had a casting session on the grass before going afloat on the lake.  The fish were caught from the lake near the north shore in April 2023.

Pike from Blagdon lake

Sometimes when you are fishing for trout a pike grabs your fly. This one was 12lb and was caught on a Blue Flash Damsel fly. June 2023

Brown trout from blagdon

A good brown trout weighing over 3Lb caught on a black buzzer from Blagdon lake, safely returned. Caught on the same day as the pike!

Brown Trout from Blagdon opening day 2024

Dave with a 4lb Brown trout

Dave caught this fish on Blagdon opening day on a black fly close to the surface. As you can see it is still in the net as Dave does not touch the fish or allow it to flap around in the bottom of the boat.

Still in the net!

Lovely markings on the fish.

Ready to go back in the water!

8th April - YNSFRO Reservoirs

First time visit to YNSFRO Reservoirs in Newport South Wales, kept this cracking 3.5lb rainbow trout and released a few more. Excellent venue, well run by Newport Angling Association.

Catching carp on my old Maver float rod and vintage Mitchell match reel at Bullock Farm, Kingston Seymour. Using bread, floating on the surface, it was a great way to spend a couple of hours!
